Kelly Carolan is researching the history of a Bechstein piano she recently acquired. It was originally purchased from Parkers Piano Specialists at 250 Holdenhurst Road in Bournemouth.
The previous owners believe it was bought shortly before the start of the Second World War. In 1943 the centre of Bournemouth was bombed by the Germans and several buildings were either destroyed or severely damaged, including some in the Holdenhurst Road area.
Was the piano store one of those to suffer in the raid? Does anyone know who owned the store and what happened to it?
