AFC Bournemouth fans are set to come together to protest at rising football ticket prices.

The Football Supporters’ Federation (FSF) is planning a weekend of action across the country on October 3 and 4, with fans of every club in the top flight set to be involved.

In Bournemouth, where Cherries take on Watford that day, supporters of both clubs are planning to come together to make their feelings known.

The campaign is known as ‘Twenty’s Plenty’, with the aim being that an average adult match ticket should cost £20.

Bournemouth and Watford fans will join forces and meet at the Sir Percy Florence Shelley pub in Boscombe at 1.30pm on October 3.

They plan to unveil banners, subject to police permission, which they also hope to display at the game during half time.

Organiser Chris Millar, 20, who works in quality control, said: “Football prices at the moment are going up to £40, £50, £60 a game just for an adult ticket.”

He said with the amount of money Sky Sports puts into the game, the fans deserved better.

Chris added: “We feel that the Premier League could help reduce the prices down to, say, £20, with all that money coming in.

“Fans are not getting rewarded, they’re getting exploited.”

Chris has been involved with the FSF since last year and follows Cherries home and away.

He said: “It would be great if the Premier League listens and does something to encourage clubs to reduce prices.”

Concerns over ticket prices have escalated in recent seasons.

At the start of the current season, the Bristol City Supporters’ Club and Trust called for fans to stay away from their team’s game at Sheffield Wednesday over the £39 cost of a ticket at Hillsborough.
