IT's the ultimate feel-good musical that's more camp than a row of tents.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert is back with a vengeance and will brighten up your week if you can get to the Mayflower by Saturday.

From the outset the audience is bathed in swirling lights from giant glitter balls.

When The Three Divas open the show you know you're in for a treat and from then the jukebox hits just keep coming.

Who doesn't love a bit of Go West, Boogie Wonderland and I Love the Nightlife on a miserable Monday night?

And as for Duncan James - what a performance. As part of Blue he was everyone's favourite boyband member back in the day but he seems more comfortable than ever on stage, in drag.

He, Simon Green and Adam Bailey make a fantastic team as the three guys caked in make-up and truly astonishing costumes who travel around the Australian outback in a minibus named Priscilla.

It's easy to see why awards have been heaped on this show, more for the sassy costumes than anything else.

But that's hardly surprising - there are 500 of them, 200 hats, 100 wigs and 150 pairs of shoes.

The set is little more than a series of curtains but there's simply no room for elaborate scenery in this show - you'd get a migraine.

It's rare to see an entire audience on its feet and dancing on opening night and the atmosphere can only build as the week goes on.

Look out for the cake in the rain - it's worth going for that alone.

* Priscilla runs until Saturday night.
