FORMER football manager Harry Redknapp has reportedly bagged himself a 'bargain' new home.

But he and wife Sandra are not going far, as their new Sandbanks pad is a stone's throw from their current home.

It is thought that Harry, who managed AFC Bournemouth in the 1980s before taking charge of West Ham, Portsmouth, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur and QPR, has bought a seafront property for a cut-price £4 million.

The home, known as Solaris, was originally marketed for more than double that and has been on sale for several years.

Harry stepped down from his job at QPR to have knee surgery, but mobility won't be a problem at his new home, as it benefits from a lift and a garden with direct access to the beach.

Last summer, the price of Solaris was dropped to £5 million and the home featured in the Daily Echo's Location supplement.

It was described as "one of the finest beachfront positions on the world famous Sandbanks peninsula".

It enjoys panoramic views across Poole Bay and has a 'striking' glass frontage facing Banks Road.

The property extends to 6,738sqft and has a reception hall, glass staircase, dual-aspect living and dining areas, luxury kitchen and a timber terrace.

There's also a guest suite with balcony, a study and two more bedroom suites alongside the master suite, which features 'his and hers' dressing areas.

The new owners will be able to take a dip in the swimming pool, work out in the gym and enjoy the hot tub and steam room.

When the property was reduced in price last August, Keith Fensom of Savills Canford Cliffs, said: “We had originally been testing the market at a fairly full price, but our client is now extremely motivated and determined to sell the property. As a result, the guide price has just been substantially reduced to £5 million to attract an early sale.”

The Redknapps politely declined to comment.
