ONE hundred years ago this very day, the Battle of Nonnebosschen was in progress. It happened towards the end of the first battle of Ypres.
The German High Command put together a Corps, ranged against the Black Watch, 1st Scots Guards, 1st Cameron Highlanders and the 1st Kings. Today we mark Armistice Day and although the focus is very much on the First World War today, all those who have fallen will be in our thoughts. Not least the young servicemen who have made the ultimate sacrifice more recently and whose loved ones are feeling the most pain.
