THIS week we highlight a given; that those suffering from mental illness are treated as second class citizens.
Our focus is on child abuse and the shortcomings of CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services).
But politicians, police, the clergy and many health professionals have paid lip service for too long to the needs of the one in four people who suffer mental illness, especially abuse victims.
Post Savile, many youngsters continue daily to be let down after being encouraged to disclose in the first place.
The NHS and the government have much lost time to make up for. Starting now.
