RESIDENTS have until next month to take part in a consultation on reshaping transport infrastructure across Poole town centre.

Borough of Poole will hold two question and answer sessions for the public later this month, and a questionnaire is available online for completion.

Civic chiefs insist the results of the six-week consultation, which runs until December 6, will be used when it comes to implementing town centre transport improvements.

Poole Cllr Mike White said: “Staff in our planning and transportation departments have worked closely together to develop this consultation.

“It gives local people the opportunity to give their views on how easy they can get into and around the town centre and how this could contribute to improving Poole as a place to live, work and visit.

“We would encourage everyone to comment as the feedback we receive will help shape future travel in Poole town centre.”

Council staff will be at Hamworthy Library on November 15, from 1pm to 7pm, for the first question & answer session. A second session takes place at Poole Central Library, 11am to 3pm, on November 30.

Help with completing questionnaires will be available on both dates.

A Borough of Poole spokesman explained the consultation results will be tested in a transport model before further public consultation next year.

“Once the preferred approach has been agreed,” said the spokesman. “It will be set out in an updated planning and design guidance for the town centre.”
