A MAN who was seriously injured in a crash that brought major commuter routes to a standstill continues to fight for his life in hospital.
Police said yesterday that the Wareham man, aged in his 70s, remained in a critical condition following the crash on the Wessex Way in Bournemouth on Tuesday, October 15.
Officers continue to investigate what caused the crash and have renewed their appeal for any remaining witnesses to come forward.
The red Mercedes 4x4 car came off the road as it headed from the Bournemouth West roundabout towards County Gates at around 3pm on Tuesday last week.
It left the carriageway and collided with a tree. No other vehicles were involved.
The man was treated at the roadside before being taken to hospital, where his condition continues to be described as “critical” by Dorset Police.
Witnesses should contact Poole Traffic Unit on 101, quoting incident 15:277.
