THE O2 Academy in Boscombe will provide the setting for this year’s Bournemouth Tourism Awards ceremony.

Now in its eighth year, the event on November 21 will celebrate the outstanding efforts of all those involved in the town’s tourism industry.

The event is based on a Victorian seaside theme and guests can expect excitement, surprises and something a bit out of the ordinary.

Back for a second year is the Daily Echo backed People’s Choice award giving the public the chance to vote for their favourite establishment or attraction.

To find out how to vote for the first stage of the People’s Choice award visit bournemouth.co.uk/business/tourism-awards-2013 before October 1.

The top five businesses will be entered into the final stage of the People’s Choice Award on the Daily Echo website from October 7. Daily Echo readers will be able to vote with the chance of winning a Golden Ticket - full of prizes.

Establishments who can enter the People’s Choice Award are sightseeing operation, retailers, hotels and guesthouses, B&Bs, restaurants and cafes, coach and tour operators, attractions and nightclubs.

There are 11 other award categories including large/medium hotel of the year, small hotel or guest accommodation of the year, best shopping experience of the year, best evening experience of the year, tourism attraction of the year, outstanding customer service of the year, restaurant/bistro of the year, self-catering, camping and caravanning establishment of the year, tourism transport of the year and contribution to international education and conference business experience of the year.

The deadline for returning electronic applications for the 11 award categories above is midnight on October 17 and 9pm the same evening for hard copy applications.
