From today (Mon) air passengers can fly from Bournemouth to the USA.
Aer Lingus Regional flights can now connect through Dublin to complete pre-clearance and customs, ahead of their onward journey to the US.
The re-scheduled flights have been welcomed by tourism chiefs in Bournemouth and Poole.
It is estimated that this new service will save passengers up to two hours on arrival at US destinations including New York, Boston, Chicago and Orlando.
Ireland is the only country in Europe to offer passport and customs pre-clearance to US destinations.
Aer Arann Chief Commercial Officer Simon Fagan said: "We are pleased to offer this service; Bournemouth Airport is of strategic importance to our network."
If you were you among the first passengers to use this new service please contact the Daily Echo newsdesk on 01202 296502.
