Liberal Democrat candidate Vikki Slade has won the Broadstone by-election with a landslide victory.
The by-election was triggered after Conservative councillor Jo Tomlin resigned on health grounds in September.
Vikki Slade, who previously stood as a parliamentary candidate for Mid Dorset in the last election and has served as a councillor in Poole in the past, won with 2,184 votes.
The Greens got 57 votes, UKIP 121, Labour 45 and Conservatives 733.
