A leading broadcaster has been announced as the curator for Bridport's From Page to Screen Film Festival in 2020.

Edith Bowman will join a team of film aficionados to provide fans with an interesting and thought-provoking lineup of screenings, which will be hosted by Bridport Arts Centre in collaboration with the Electric Palace and other Bridport venues.

Scottish-born Edith has been working in TV and radio for nearly 20 years, including hosting shows on Radio 1, 2, 6 and 5Live as well as fronting programmes for the BBC, Channel 4, Sky Arts and MTV. She boasts a rich and varied body of work which ranges from presenting the BAFTA Scotland Awards to producing a documentary on endangered crocodiles in Cambodia.

Currently, Edith is the host of the Virgin Radio UK Breakfast Show, on air every weekday from 6am to 10am. Her award-winning podcast, Soundtracking, combines her twin passions for music and cinema as she explored filmmakers' professional and personal relationship with music.

Edith is also a music editor for Elle Magazine and in 2015 published her first book, Edith Bowman's Great British Music Festivals.

From Page to Screen is the UK's only festival which celebrates the adaptation of books to film, and works to explore the relationship between words and moving images. The festival aims to inspire people of all ages to read more, watch more, and make their own movies, all the while encouraging visitors to simply sit back and escape into the world of film.

2020 will be the twelfth year of From Page to Screen. Previous curators have included Jon Ronson, Francine Stock, Charles Sturridge and Nick Marston, while last year welcomed Christine Langan to the role.

An Academy Award nominated producer, Christine began her career at Granada Television where she developed the acclaimed comedy drama series Cold Feet. She went on to become Head of BBC Films and executive produced a wide range of successful projects, including Philomena and Saving Mr Banks.

From Page to Screen 2020 will take place from Wednesday, April 15 to Sunday, April 19. Regular updates, ticket information and confirmation of screenings will be released from January onwards.
