Foul-mouthed chef Gordon Ramsay will put potential food and drink entrepreneurs “through hell” in a new BBC show.

The 53-year-old gives his own financial backing to the winner to get their idea off the ground in the eight-part series, to be filmed later this year.

Ramsay’s previous shows, such as Hell’s Kitchen, The F Word and Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, have aired on ITV and Channel 4.

Gordon Ramsay’s Future Food Stars will be broadcast on BBC One.

Ramsay, famous for his tough talk, will push 12 candidates “to their limits through a series of relentless challenges”.

The show will tap into changes seen across the food industry, such as subscription boxes, food apps, and hi-tech delivery services.

Ramsay said: “The future of our food industry has never been more exciting. I can’t wait to search across the country, unearthing some of Britain’s most entrepreneurial talent.

“I’ve spent the last 21 years at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay nurturing, supporting and mentoring some of Great Britain’s greatest chefs and that’s truly why I think investing in the next generation of talented individuals is so important.”

A previous series featuring the celebrity chef, Ramsay’s Hotel Hell, sparked an Ofcom investigation after the expletive-laden programme was broadcast in the morning.

Viewers of the Channel 4 show heard him say “f***” six times.

Ramsay and his wife Tana welcomed their fifth child, son Oscar, in April.

He later told the Mail On Sunday’s Event magazine: “I was as white as a ghost. I fell back into the chair and I fainted. They said ‘Tana’s fine. I think it’s you we need to look after next’.”

In 2017, Ramsay’s father-in-law, Chris Hutcheson, was jailed for six months for hacking the celebrity chef’s company computer system to steal information during a high-profile falling out.
