WHERE: Chapman’s Pool, Worth Matravers, Purbeck
DETAILS: A lesser known version of Lulworth Cove, Chapman’s Pool has a raw and untouched quality.
The nearest car park is about half a mile west of Worth Matravers so make sure you wear your walking shoes.
You can leave your car in a drystone-wall surrounded compound and strike out on foot across well-signed and well-trodden paths.
The descent to the cove is steep and in places uneven, but it is a pretty walk and when you reach the bottom you will find a rocky beach surrounding the horseshoe-shaped cove.
You won’t see the large number of tourists that you would at Lulworth Cove but the view is just as rewarding and the tranquility is blissful.
