60s NIGHT OUT WITH THE DREAMERS AND THE TEMPLE BROTHERS

WEYMOUTH PAVILION

A TRIP down memory lane, that is what the audience for this show were hoping to enjoy and they certainly got just that in the person of a four piece group that took us back to Liverpool in its rock ‘n' roll heyday of the 1960s.

Freddie and the Dreamers were part of the golden age of pop and two of the original group members are still up and running, performing oldies like Twist and Shout and You were Made for Me.

The Temple Brothers duo started off the show in style with their convincing interpretation of the Everly Brothers as they brought back to life Bye Bye Love, Walk Right Back and other favourites of the harmonic pair.

Hardly a dry eye in the house greeted their emotional version of Let It Be Me as they completed the first half of the show, only to return for the second half – minus their black wigs - as instrumentalists and singers in The Dreamers four piece band, an amazing transformation.

Hit songs from Gerry and the Pacemakers and The Beatles gave the audience a chance to join in the singing as the group told silly jokes, danced, clowned around and generally had a good time onstage, an amazing achievement especially for the two granddads whose instrumental and vocal achievements were of the finest quality.
