THERE are five days to go before the start of the Larmer Tree Music Festival and local music fans will be delighted to hear that festival is, as ever, supporting local musicians.

The line-up this year is a real who’s who of Bournemouth and Dorset-based musicians.

Husband and wife duo Trevor Moss and Hannah Lou play guitar-based songs in a country finger-picking style, but it is their vocal harmonies that make them unique. They take to the stage on the Saturday afternoon.

Described by Jools Holland as one of his favourite ten pianists, and asked to perform at his wedding, Ben Waters is rapidly achieving legendary status as a great performer and piano player himself. He plays on the Sunday evening of the festival.

Disco’s Out, Murder’s In are a Bournemouth-based septet who have gained a reputation as the ultimate party band since their formation in 2008. They will be playing energetic rock accompanied by raucous brass and woodwind on the Thursday.

Other Bournemouth and Dorset-based artists appearing at the festival include Tinderbox, Pachango, Pronghorn, Ninebarrow, Fearne, Perico, Mother Ukers, Will McNicol and last but not least, Cyan Kudu.

All this wonderful local talent will appear alongside headline music and comedy acts including Van Morrison, Dexys, Dylan Moran, Alastair McGowan and KT Tunstall.

The festival itself kicks off on July 17, with performances from over 100 bands and comedians across eight venues.

Best of all, the site is small and easily accessible, not to mention beautiful.

With food stalls offering everything from curries to pie and mash, four well-stocked bars and a couple of convenience shops, all tastes are well catered for. Visit larmertreefestival.co.uk for further details
