SINCE the release of their debut album DNA last year, Little Mix have clocked up more hits here in the UK and have begun to make their mark in the US too.
Can they sustain this rise? Salute, their second album, answers this with a very firm ‘Yes’. The Beyonce-esque title track opens the album to rally the female troops and this military, beat-driven style is carried throughout. There is a lot of R’n’B influence from the sparse but addictive Move to Mr Loverboy and the girls’ outstanding vocals shine on These Four Walls and Good Enough.
Salute feels like a logical, well-measured progression from their debut album and will undoubtedly see their star burn even brighter.
