THE Larmer Tree festival has announced its second wave of headline acts. The Magic Numbers, Meadowlark, Laura Doggett, Seafret, The Beat, and Molotov Jukebox are just some of over thirty new music acts to be announced in this second wave of line-up.

Celebrating 25 years in style, Larmer Tree Festival have been gathering talent from around the country to perform at the original boutique festival alongside Tom Jones, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Levellers and Bill Bailey on the bill this year.

The festival takes place from July 15-19 in the stunning grounds of Larmer Tree Gardens on the Wiltshire/Dorset border. Joining the already impressive line up is Bournemouth-based four-piece The Villanovas who beat four other acts in the final of the Breakthrough Music Awards earlier this month.

The band played a 15 minute set in front of a live audience and a panel of judges including two festival directors and the festival music programmer. The Villanovas won the much-coveted spot on the Larmer Tree Festival line-up, playing on Thursday, July 16 alongside headline acts including Bellowhead and Levellers, as well as four-day passes to attend the festival.

This year's line-up celebrates an abundance of local talent. Breakthrough Music Awards winners The Villanovas are joined by Bournemouth's Drew Allen who supported James Blunt last year, Will McNicol along with Wesley Bennett, Tinderbox and Pachango to prove that the South coast town is a hotbed of new talent.

Larmer Tree Festival are renowned for supporting emerging talent and last year showcased rising star James Bay as part of a successful collaboration with BBC Introducing. This year's BBC Introducing slot goes to Bristol-based 3-piece Meadowlark, who will play the Main Stage on Thursday. Having taken the music world by storm since forming two years ago, this band are tipped for success and the festival are thrilled to be championing them.

The festival was founded by Festival Director James Shepard in the summer of 1990.

“This being the 25th time I've programmed the festival, the pressure was really on to produce 'the best line-up yet' and when I scan the list of international stars who'll be appearing this year I really feel like all my birthdays have come at once,” says James Shepard, Festival Director.
