HIGHCLIFFE Castle is opening an exciting new attraction for visitors to experience this summer.
As part of the Phase 7 Lottery Heritage Fund restoration works at the Castle, a new stained-glass studio has been installed at the grade 1 listed building.
A Stained-Glass Conservator has also been appointed to undertake conservation work on an internationally important collection of stained glass.

This collection was compiled by Lord Stuart de Rothesay when he built the Castle between 1831-1836.
Councillor Mohan Iyengar, Portfolio Holder for Tourism, Leisure and Culture said: “We are delighted with the unveiling of this prized and fascinating collection, that is a great addition to Highcliffe Castle.
“It greatly reflects the rich history of not only Highcliffe Castle but also our wonderful county.
“I am pleased with the incredible work of the team who have played an amazing part in uncovering the fascinating past of this treasured heritage site.”
Visitors to the Castle will have the opportunity to see our Conservator and the team at work and learn more about this fascinating collection.
From late summer, the Castle will be holding visitor workshops and classes, and in the autumn, there will be an exhibition focussing on the history of the magnificent pieces held in the collection.
The creation of the Stained-Glass studio and the engagement activities surrounding it was made possible with funding from The Pilgrim Trust and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
