A DETACHED house in the Bournemouth suburb of Moordown has sold in auction for £240,000.

The three-bedroom property at 20 Elmes Road was among 119 lots across southern England listed by regional land and property auctioneers Clive Emson.

The property was previously listed as the cheapest up for auction in the town.

At present, the property is partially let with three of the rooms occupied under the terms of Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreements on a room-by-room basis.

Described as needing some work and some TLC - unsure what the buyer will do with the property, they could renovate it and even stand the chance of making a tidy profit or 

Each of the three rooms currently being let are bringing in £85 per week. 

Rob Marchant, Clive Emson’s Dorset auctioneer, said: “The final bid was for £240,000.  At present the house is partially let at £13,260 per annum, with three of the rooms occupied under the terms of assured shorthold tenancy agreements on a room-by-room basis.”

The house is situated on Elmes Road in the district of Moordown, a short drive from Bournemouth University and the centre of the town with all of its shopping and other amenities.

The average property price on Elmes Road is around £298,250 which is six per-cent down on the previous year.

The property was sold at auction for £240,000 on Wednesday, June 16.
