Borough of Poole HIGH WAYS ACT 1980 CANFORD BRIDGE CLOSURE THE POOLE (CANFORD BRIDGE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2018 AMENDED NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Borough and County of the Town of Poole, the Highway Authority, in Agreement with Dorset County Council, are satisfied that traffic on the said Road should be prohibited and intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order in exercise of its powers under The Highways Act 1980, The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Local Authorities Traffic Order (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations, the effect of which is that no vehicle shall proceed along Canford Bridge. The proposed closure is required to carry out installation of a cable duct and construction of new expansion joints. The alternative route is as follows: from the A349/B3073 take the first exit and proceed to the next roundabout at the junction of the A31 and take the second exit west (A31). At Lake Gate Roundabout take the third exit onto the B3078. At the next junction take the first exit left (B3082). At the traffic lights turn right onto Stone Lane. At the junction with the B3078 at the traffic lights turn right onto West Borough. At the T-junction (traffic lights) turn left onto the B3073, Hanham Road/Lewens Lane, follow the B3073 onto Poole Road. The reverse applies. A pedestrian link will be maintained at all times during the road closures.
The proposed Order is effective for three consecutive overnight closures from 7.30pm to 6.30am on Tuesday 22 May 2018, Wednesday 23 May 2018 and Thursday 24 May 2018. The Order is operative for the period mentioned above but will continue in force for the statutory period of eighteen months if required.
If the works are not completed within the statutory period the Order may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Order will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £ 1000.
