ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES BRIDGE APPROACH AND POOLE LIFTING BRIDGE THE POOLE (BRIDGE APPROACH AND POOLE LIFTING BRIDGE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2018
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Borough and County of the Town of Poole, the Highway Authority, is satisfied that traffic on the said Roads should be prohibited and intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order in exercise of its powers under The Highways Act 1980, The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Local Authorities Traffic Order (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996, the effect of which is that no person shall cause or permit vehicles to proceed along that part of Bridge Approach and the Poole Lifting Bridge affected by the works which will be undertaken overnight from 7pm to 7am on the dates listed below. Pedestrians and cyclists will be permitted to cross the bridge using one footway only. Emergency Services will be given precise details of the closure dates in due course by the Contractor. Emergency vehicles will be accommodated on a one-off basis. A diversion will be signed. The overnight closures are required for the removal and installation of permanent timber decking. 7pm to 7am on Monday 29 January 2018 until Friday 2 February 2018 7pm to 7am on Monday 5 February 2018 until Friday 9 February 2018 7pm to 7am on Monday 12 February until Tuesday 13 February 2018 (Note: the closures will not be in place at weekends) The proposed Order is effective between 7pm to 7am on Monday 29 January 2018 until Tuesday 13 February 2018 (inclusive). The Order is operative for die period mentioned above but will continue in force for the statutory period of eighteen months if required. If the works are not completed within the statutory period the Order may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport
