ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 BLANDFORD ROAD (BETWEEN RIGLER ROAD AND INGLESHAM WAY) THE POOLE (BLANDFORD ROAD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Borough and County of the Town of Poole, the Highway Authority, is satisfied that traffic on the said Road should be prohibited and has made an Order in exercise of its powers under The Highways Act 1980, The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Local Authorities Traffic Order (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996, the effect of which is that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in a northbound direction towards Upton on Blandford Road affected by the works (between Rigler Road signal junction and Inglesham Way). These works will be carried out in phases using a 'rolling road closure programme'. Frontagers and Emergency Services will be given precise details of the closure dates in due course by the Contractor. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Emergency vehicles will be accommodated on a one-off basis. A diversion will be signed.
THE PROPOSED CLOSURE IS REQUIRED FOR CARRIAGEWAY RESURFACING
The proposed Order is effective from 7am on Monday 20 November 2017 until approx. 6am on Saturday 2 December 2017. The Order is operative for the period mentioned above but will continue in force for the
statutory period of eighteen months if required. If the works are not completed within the statutory period the Order may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport. Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Order will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £400.
