ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES FERNSIDE ROAD THE POOLE (FERNSIDE ROAD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017
that The Borough and County of the Town of Poole, the Highway Authority, is satisfied that traffic on the said Road should be prohibited and has made an Order in exercise of its powers under Section 5, 14(1), 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers as detailed above, the effect of this Order is that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed along that part of Fernside Road affected by the works. Frontagers and Emergency Services will be given precise details of the closure dates in due course by the Contractor.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Emergency vehicles will be accommodated on a one-off basis. A diversion will be signed. Residents of the closed sections of roads will be informed by letter nearer the time of the proposed works.
These works will be carried out in phases using a 'rolling road closure programme' as shown in the following schedule (please note these dates are approximate and subject to weather and ground conditions).
Between junctions of St Mary's Rd and Linthorpe Rd
Between junctions of Linthorpe Rd and Longfleet Rd
Between junctions of Longfleet Rd andVerulam Road
Between junctions ofVerulam Rd and Fernside Ave
Between junctions of Fernside Ave and Parkstone Rd
The closures are required for replacement gas mains and services.
The proposed Order is effective from Monday 10 April 2017 until Tuesday 20 June 2017. The Order is operative for the period mentioned above but will continue in force for the statutory period of eighteen months if required. If the works are not completed within the statutory period the Order may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport
Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Order will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £400.
