TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A303 and A34 Trunk Roads in the County of Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise: -
1) the overnight closure of;

a) phased sections of both carriageways of the A303 between the M3 at Junction 8 and Picket Twenty Junction (A3093);

b) both carriageways of the A34 between Bullington Interchange (A30/A303) and its merge with/divergence from the A33 at Kings Worthy Interchange;

c) all the slip/link roads leading to and from the carriageways described in a) and b) above; and

d) all the side roads at junction with from the carriageways described in a) and b) above; and

2) the 24-hour closure of all the lay-bys adjacent to the carriageways described in 1) a) and b) above.

These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors working on behalf of SSEN undertake electrical works.
It is expected that the work will last for approximately 3 nights starting on or after Monday 21st March 2022. The overnight closures will take place between 21:00 and 06:00 (maximum periods).
The Order will come into force on 19th March 2022 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted using other junctions on the A303 and A34, and by using the M3, A30, A33, A34, and A3057, and Bullington Lane. The diversion in operation will vary according to the closure in force. Access to properties will be maintained under works control.
The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
