A303 TRUNK ROAD (M3 JUNCTION 8 TO BARTON STACEY) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A303 Trunk Road in the County of Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to:-
1. authorise the overnight closure of-

a. the westbound carriageway of the A303 between Bullington Cross and Barton Stacey;

b. all slip roads leading to and from this length of carriageway; and

c. all side roads at junction with this length of carriageway.

2. authorise the 24-hour closure of all lay-bys adjacent to the length of carriageway in 1. a. above.

3. impose a 24-hour 50 mph speed limit on the westbound carriageway of the A303 between a point 400 metres east of centreline of A30 underbridge at Bullington Cross and a point 990 metres east of centreline of Barton Stacey overbridge.

4. impose a 24-hour width restriction of 2.75 metres in lane 2 on the westbound carriageway of the A303 between a point 350 metres east of centreline of the underbridge for the A34 at Bullington Cross and a point 600 metres east of centreline of the junction (leading to and from the Street) at Barton Stacey.

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake barrier works and all associated works.
It is expected that the work would last for approximately 6 weeks starting on or after Monday 2nd November 2020. The overnight closures would take place between 22:00 and 06:00 (maximum period).
The Order would come into force on 31 st October 2020 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months.
Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using the A30, A3057, Bullington Lane and the Street. The diversion route will vary depending on the closure in force.
The temporary closures, speed limit, width restriction and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
