CLIFF DRIVE, POOLE CLIFF STABILISATION WORKS TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2020

CLIFF DRIVE, POOLE CLIFF STABILISATION WORKS TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
2020
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council, in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and the Traffic Management Act 2004, has made temporary traffic regulations, with the effects detailed below, to control traffic.
WHAT & WHERE: CLIFF DRIVE:
- closed to all vehicles from its junction with the Circle Roundabout to outside Canford Court (Flats 1-10). All footways on the north-eastern and south-eastern side of the road will also be closed to all pedestrians
- temporary suspension of all parking bays - no parking, no waiting, no loading/unloading at any time will be permitted from opposite No. 43 to opposite No. 17.
- temporary suspension of the weight limit restriction from its junction with St Clair Road at the Circle Roundabout to its junction with the western end of St Clair Road -allowing exemption for construction vehicles working on the Cliff Stabilisation Project only
- the public footpath (zig-zag) leading from Cliff Drive to the Promenade will be closed for the duration of the work.
WHEN: Anticipated dates: Monday 14 September 2020 until Friday 12 March 2021.
WHY: To undertake essential cliff stabilisation works on behalf of BCP.
ACCESS: Full emergency services access will be maintained. Access only for residents and for construction vehicles.
DIVERSION: Via St Clair Road from its junction with Cliff Drive for eastbound and westbound traffic. These arrangements may be amended/extended should works overrun or weather conditions delay operations. Restrictions may be in effect under this Order for up to 18 months relating to the Traffic Restrictions and 6 months with regard to the Footpath Closure and could be further extended with the approval of the Secretary of State. The Council regrets any inconvenience to the public caused by this Traffic Order. Date authorised: 3 August 2020
