The County of Dorset (Various Roads, Wimborne (30 mph and 40 mph Speed Limits) (No.') Order 20'
Dorset Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 84(1) and (2) and 124(1) (d) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce;
30mph speed limit on sections or otherwise detailed following lengths of roads in Colehill, Wimborne
- B3078 Wimborne Road/Cranborne Road
- Burt's Hill
- Deans Grove, for its entire length
- Smugglers Lane 40mph speed limit on sections of following lengths of roads in Colehill, Wimborne
- Long Lane
- Smugglers Lane
Full details of this proposal are contained in the Draft Order which, together with plans showing the lengths of roads affected and a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order can be viewed. Temporary Traffic Management Order, A347 Ringwood Road, Ferndown
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14  of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 7th September 2020 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 18th December 2020. This Order will enable Dorset Council to construct a cycleway as well as associated kerbing, drainage, bitmac surfacing of cycleway as well as slight widening of carriageway in to central reserve.
The effect of this order is to impose a temporary 30mph speed limit as well as lane closures along A347 Ringwood Road, Ferndown, between Tricketts Cross Roundabout to Palmersford Roundabout, a distance of approximately 450 metres. This is being imposed to ensure safety for traffic management and construction operations during the construction of the cycleway.
