Dear Derek, and ladies, Rachel, Sharon, Judi, Claire,
On behalf of my family, I send you deep sympathy at this time with the passing away of your precious wife and mother to you, ladies. The 7 grandchildren would have this void that Barbara had filled as she was a very much loved and hands on grand mother. In many ways she was a very impressive lady, kind and helpful to many, and was able to influence so many people with her artistic flare expressed through her needle work, patchwork quilts and countless beautiful fabrics and designs she worked on. With her infinite patience she created and carried out much artistic work. May you all know the comfort of the Holy Spirit. Barbara thank you for the work you did in churches and in my church we have joyfully exhibited two beautiful banners of your creation, one announcing Jesus Christ as the Alpha and Omega. Of course you and Derek were ardent sailors. You took Ebi and I on a boat trip at Marple. The canal boat was moored at the back of your garden. I remember the day so clearly. As we came in to moor again I had jumped off in the wrong direction and ended up tumbling over. Thank you for your kind hospitality. I may not have spent long hours with you but the fact that you were there was comforting. Now that you have gone on ahead, I pray the comfort of the Holy Spirit on all your dear ones. My gentle prayer is that the Lord will answer your prayers concerning your family and subsequent generations. The parting is always difficult but it is temporary and we will all get there. When my husband Ebi left I comforted myself that he has only gone on ahead. And so have you, Barbara. As children of God we believe that we will meet again. Yet your legacy lives on in your super talented grand children. (Ishare 4 in particular with you.)
I am amazed at them and all other good influences you have left to continue to bless the world. In the present life you live on through them, and they will carry on the good work.
Adieu. Shalom.
