Actor and Julia's House patron Martin Clunes will take part in Carols by Candlelight at Wimborne Minster on Wednesday, December 9. Fashion designer Jasper Conran, a long-standing supporter of the charity, will also be doing a reading. The festive evening will involve poetry, prose, music and traditional carols, and there will also be performances from Rock Choir. Tickets for Carols by Candelight cost £15 with under-12s free and are available online at juliashouse.org/carols or by calling the fundraising office on 01202 644220. The concert will help raise funds to support families with life-limited children across Dorset and Wiltshire.

A community Christmas carol concert is taking place at Castlepoint Library on Wednesday, December 9. It takes place from 10am to 11am with entertainment from the Happy Heart Singers choir.

The principal band of Verwood Concert Brass is to perform a Christmas concert in the Minster church on Saturday, December 12 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 each.

A Christmas carol service will be held at Bure House on Wednesday, December 9 at 2pm. The event at the centre, just off Jumpers Road, will hear music provided by Barry Sherwin, the organist at St Thomas More Roman Catholic Church in Iford. Money raised goes to The British Heart Foundation.

Enjoy some traditional Christmas carols at St Mary's Church in West Moors on Sunday, December 13. The concert will be taking place at the church in Station Road, opposite the Memorial Hall, from 6pm.

Christchurch and District Concert Band present a Christmas concert at Christchurch Royal British Legion in Bargates at 7.30pm on Tuesday, December 15. Non-members are welcome.

St James CE Primary School will be holding its annual carol concert at Bournemouth Library on Friday, December 11 at 10.30am. There will be free refreshments on offer. 

A Christmas celebration concert will be held at St Aldhelm’s Church on Saturday, December 14 at 7.30pm. It will feature vocal harmony group Salvacosta with Darren Barlett, the Woodfalls Brass Band and the Dynamix Youth Choir. The money raised will help support Brendoncare's clubs for older people, which aim to tackle loneliness and isolation. Tickets cost £8.50 (unreserved) and are available on 01202 571485.

The La Nova singers will perform a Christmas concert at Highcliffe Castle at 7.30pm on Wednesday, December 9. To book tickets call 01425 278807.

St Mark’s Church at Talbot Village will host two Christmas services on Sunday, December 20. At 10.30am there will be a crib service with nativity for all the family, and at 6pm there will be carols by candlelight.

There will be music and carols with The Flute Group and the Wind Quintet at the Milford Village Community Centre from 3pm on Saturday, December 12. There will be a retiring collection for the Mental Health Foundation.

The Poole and Parkstone Singers will be holding a Christmas concert with carols at Highcliffe Castle on Wednesday, December 16, from 7.30pm. To book tickets call 01425 278807.

The annual Shoppers Carol Service will take place in the Minster on Saturday, December 19, at 11am. It will be conducted by the rector, Reverend Canon Vanessa Herrick. 

The BSO's Celebration of Christmas Carols takes place at Poole Lighthouse on Wednesday, December 23. The orchestra, conducted by Frank Zielhorst, will be performing the likes of O Come All Ye Faithful, Good King Wenceslas and Hark the Herald Angels Sing. Tickets from £10.75 to £27.75. The concert starts at 7.30pm.
