A NEW Greggs has thrown open its doors in a Poole retail park.

The new store, at Wessex Gate Retail Park, has created 12 new jobs for the area.

As reported, plans for the new shop were approved by BCP Council in October 2022, moving into the former Carphone Warehouse unit.

The national bakery chain famous for its sausage rolls and steak bakes, said the new shop has a ‘modern new look and comfortable seating’, and will be open from 6am until 8pm every day.

When plans were lodged, it was reported that the new store could be one of the largest in the country.

Shop manager Charlotte Springett said: “We can’t wait to welcome both Greggs fans and new customers to our brand-new shop. We’ve got an amazing range of iconic savouries, Fairtrade hot drinks, hot food and healthier choices available for takeaway, sit-in or Click + Collect.”

Gillian Long, retail operations director for Greggs, said: “Our new shop in Wessex Gate Retail Park, Poole, has brought 12 new jobs to the local area, as well as providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their Greggs favourites.”
