LATE at night, the centre of Bournemouth can feel like a more dangerous place than it is.

When large numbers of people are stumbling about drunk, the sober visitor can’t help but feel a bit intimidated.

Workshops can all too easily become talking shops. But if more people can be encouraged to venture into town for purposes other than downing as much alcohol as possible, Bournemouth can only be improved.
