THE story in this newspaper at the weekend and yesterday about asylum seekers in Bournemouth sadly provoked a torrent of predictable knee jerk reaction which doesn’t bear repeating.
However, an asylum charity has very sensibly put some perspective on the situation, as we report today.
Given the terrible circumstances in which many of them have fled their respective countries, these temporary residents are unlikely to be throwing a party to celebrate their brief stay in the resort.
As has been said before in other circumstances, we should understand a little more and condemn a little less.
