TODAY we hear from Victor Ibitoye, the cyclist who was with Lewis Gill when he struck the punch that killed Andrew Young in Charminster.
Following Gill’s sentencing, Ibitoye has spoken out about that day.
It underlines further the fact that this was a pointless way for a man to lose his life. The case has hit headlines around the world because of the length of Gill’s sentence – just four years – and it is under review.
But, if that coverage makes just one person think twice before throwing a punch, then something good can come from this tragedy.
