THE details of some crimes are so appalling as to be almost inexplicable.
Those of taxi driver John Worboys fall into this category. That Worboys was able to carry out more that 100 rapes and sexual assaults using drugs and alcohol to stupefy his victims before being caught is incomprehensible. Now Mr Justice Green has ruled at the High Court that the Metropolitan Police is liable to pay compensation to two of his victims. Their suffering and that of others who should never have been placed in danger, that’s the true cost of the shocking failings of the Metropolitan police.
