WE cover a great many child abuse cases in this newspaper. Rightly so.
They are shocking and disturbing and seemingly more perpetrators are being brought to justice.
In news terms however, these stories are here today, gone tomorrow.
Another abuser jailed, next case.
Today we tell a story that ought to have more lasting impact.
It is the personal account of a betrayed wife and child and it is a story that every parent should read.
The bravery and determination of the victim and her mum should serve as inspiration to others who find themselves in the same terrible circumstances.
