  • "My parents never had a car when I was small and they hated the bus so we walked everywhere. I still walk miles now.

I think it's terrible that adults use their kids as an excuse for their laziness. It's really not doing the kids any favours too."

Long walk for little children

FUN: James Forder bungie diving from the Extreme Sensations ride at Bournemouth Family Festival in Meyrick Park FUN: James Forder bungie diving from the Extreme Sensations ride at Bournemouth Family Festival in Meyrick Park

LAST week there was a ‘Family Fun Day’ held in Meyrick Park .

That morning on the bus, were a number of mothers with young children, all heading for this event.

The nearest bus stop to the park entailed a long walk for these small children, bad enough going, but daunting on the return journey.

A similar situation approaching the park from the Square.

It is a pity that Meyrick Park is virtually inaccessible to those without a car. Neither my husband nor I have been to this park for years as we have no transport. I am sure that we are not alone.
