WHAT a lovely photograph of controlled burning taking place in the New Forest (Echo Page 19 Tuesday).

Here am I running my 100 Gram CO2 /Km car in an effort to help meet my obligations, and do my bit towards cutting CO2 emissions and there they are emitting 1,100,000 grams of CO2 per tonne of gorse burnt.

I know it's a time-honoured tradition in the New Forest and even elsewhere, but that was before the demonic CO2 scare arose.

So perhaps like my fossil fuel emissions their burning gorse emissions should also be taxable.
