Commission got it wrong, not charity

I read with interest your article on March 10 headlined Charities Told To File Their Accounts On Time.

I am one of the trustees for the Richie Keefe Life and Soul Trust, one of the charities mentioned in this article, and we received a phone call from yourselves asking why our accounts were overdue with the Charity Commission.

Our accounts were not due until August 31 and our accountant obtained an email from the Charity Commission confirming this, but of course it was too late – the article had gone to print.

This was not a terribly negative article, but it also wasn’t a positive one and we, as a charity, try so hard to raise awareness and find new families to help that our name being mentioned in this article was somewhat disheartening – especially since it was due to an error on the part of the Charity Commission.

If there is anyone out there that would like to come to one of our events this year please look at our website richiekeefelifeandsoultrust .org.uk, or if anyone knows of a family that may need our help please contact Nikki on 01202 767777.
