For the last 50 years and more Father Christmas has arrived in Wareham town centre before climbing down the chimney of the Red Lion Hotel into Santa’s Grotto below and giving presents to the local children.
Santa Claus has used many different types of transport, from James Bond’s Sunseeker powerboat to a camel train.
We are launching a website later this year and would like to include an archive of photos and video of this popular annual event.
Would anyone who has photos or video of past Christmas parades, or Father Christmas on the roof of the Red Lion, please consider loaning or donating them for possible inclusion in the website?
If you can help, please contact Ian Stainer, chairman of Wareham Father Christmas Committee, telephone 01929 553730.
Santa will arrive this year on Sunday December 12.
More details will appear in November.
Thank you.
