IN RESPONSE to Funny Business At The University (Have Your Say, March 5), all is not doom at the business school.

What we do have is a new building and Caffè Liscio. There we can enjoy an Italian coffee from rainforest alliance, certified blends served by expert baristas, to pacify us during the many times when we cannot find our study-less lecturers!

True, our business school deans have little cutting edge research and few, if any, publications. Strategic management experience in the real world is also missing – many lecturers have not worked elsewhere or it was a long time ago. There are very few failures though, and most of us will get high class degrees without working too hard. Remember we are not Oxford, Cambridge or even Southampton University, so we can’t expect too much.
