Christopher Chope, MP for Christchurch, found a lot to say about regulations on sunbeds in the Commons on Friday.
I believe that he talked at length to allow less time for a bill later in the day on controlling so-called vulture funds.
These companies buy up the debts of very poor countries and then sue for many times more.
The Jubilee Debt Campaign has led the way in opposing the activities of vulture funds and more than 200 MPs have signed an Early Day Motion asking for them to be controlled.
When it came to the time for the vulture fund bill to be debated on Friday afternoon a Conservative MP made an objection.
This may have been enough to scupper the bill for the present parliament, with maybe less than two months until the election. It has been reported in the Independent that it was Christopher Chope who made the objection.
His constituents might like to ask him if he did object, and if he did try to talk the bill out.
