Naive to get fresh with residents

WITH reference to Cllr Gregory's letter Common Sense to keep greens fresh (Have Your Say, March 5), I despair at the naivety of such comments from an elected member.

Cllr Gregory wants our open spaces to be “places of continuous improvement.”

How short is his memory? Does he not remember the Solar Pyramid debacle?

The images of that ‘steel elephant’ were overlayed on Baiter Park.

I really believe that the council has a particular agenda for opposing town green status and obviously Cllr Gregory has no idea whatsoever or he would not make remarks about “curbing improvements” unless he believes the Solar Pyramid and similar ideas constitute improvements.

Unfortunately i have to back Cllr R Gregory and Cllr M White in seeing what they have achieved with Hamworthy park . Not all councilors backed the pyramid.

MJD -One swallow doesn't make a summer. One solar pyramid makes an eyesore

Hamworthy Park today but for how long without the protection of Town Green Status. Just how much is that land worth as a development site ??
Register the land NOW - while it is still a lovely green open space - dont wait for the builders to move in as they have at Wimborne Waitrose.
Friends of Hamworthy Park get your finger out - Councillors and Councils change - Town Greens are for-ever.
