What on earth is the point of having live audiences at the much-publicised on-air debates between the leaders of the three main political parties if those audiences are to be banned from showing what they think of the issues raised and points made by the speakers?
Apparently those responsible for organising the debates are worried that the wider public could be influenced if the live audience claps or boos!
Duh? But isn’t that the whole point of these debates?
If not – why bother having them at all?
As the old saying goes: “If you can't stand the heat – stay out of the kitchen!”
