Asking “regulars” to stand away from the bar to allow a less intimidating experience and a more enjoyable visit to customers is a perfectly reasonable request, especially when suitable arrangements have been made as an alternative.
The actions of Mr Tunstall at the Hop and Kilderkin in Winton in handcuffing himself to the bar (Daily Echo, March 6) show exactly the sort of attitude that greets local business people and students who wish to enjoy the normally great atmosphere and service – not to mention superb food and choice of fine wines and ales.
Well done to Claire and her team, with invaluable support of Greene King and 99 per cent of the regulars!
