I share the feeling of the writer (Stop your messing, Have Your Say, February), but I might add it isn’t a problem we have here in Upton and Lytchett Minster.

Why?

Keep Upton Tidy Group was started about four years ago by myself and the chairman.

We have a very hard-working committee that organises litter-picks three times a year and is joined by the Girl Guides and the public, taking different parts of the area each time.

When we first started we picked up not only litter but you name it – we filled 40 large bags.

Now, in our forth year, the litter has dwindled down to such a small amount we might reduce the number of litter-pick days, which will help us to work on other areas that will help the public.

I say thank you Upton and Lytchett Minster for now keeping the arrears clean of litter.
