So Mr Gordon has “fundamental concerns” regarding wind turbines (Have Your Say, July 9).
You do not have to hold a degree in environmental sciences to understand humanity’s plight regarding the physical world.
We can debate until the cows disappear along with us but rational action has to be taken.
Our civilisation has shown time and time again its tendency toward self-destruction.
Wind turbines are a sensible option to adopt – not perfect, but what is – burying nuclear waste somewhere else where we do not want to see it while the calculated life expectancy continues to be lengthened every time it is re-examined? And that is without the obvious concern of a nuclear accident.
Green energy production has to be undertaken. Turbines can be improved and will be. Maybe one answer is a small wind turbine in each household, promoting individual responsibility along with producing energy.
We must utilise the wisdom we possess to save the planet, and that means undertaking serious practical options not talking about alternatives.
Pylons have been accepted – so will wind turbines.
Mr Dave Dalton, Mellstock Road, Poole
