The University of Southampton is looking for people to take part in a study investigating coping and adjustment to spousal bereavement in middle age and later life.
The aim of this research is to examine what resources people find most beneficial and useful in coping and adjustment (such as social support, religious beliefs and practices), and to identify whether some resources appear more helpful or important than others.
An additional aim is to examine the relationship between adjustment to bereavement and physical health, mental health, and personality factors.
This study would only involve you completing a questionnaire and answering questions about your experience of bereavement, and about religious and non-religious factors that may or may not have been helpful to you.
If you are over the age of 55 years, have experienced bereavement from a spouse in the last 48 months, and would be willing to complete a questionnaire, please contact me on 07867 627 805 or by
email at Jhs101@soton.ac.uk
