MR BOSISTO (“School run is main cause” – Echo April 21) rightly highlighted the traffic congestion in and around Canford Heath. The whole conurbation is suffering a gradual slowdown and the development of the old police station site (that nobody wanted) is going to worsen the situation once completed.
Sopers Lane, on the Waterloo Estate, grinds to a halt when children are collected from school, with adjacent roads having to bear the brunt of the increased traffic. Nationally we have a population crisis, not a housing one, and the more homes that are built just to help to maintain the status quo, then the more our inadequate highways will come under pressure to cope. And so it blindly goes on.
