ISN'T it time to calm the traffic in busy shopping areas? In Southbourne, there are a lot of elderly people using walking aids and mobility scooters. If we reduce the traffic to 10 miles an hour or have no traffic at all in that area, it would be much safer for all.
There are more and more cyclists using the paths instead of the roads and some weaving in and out of pedestrian traffic at some speed.
You can't hear them coming up behind you, and it would be so easy for a serious accident to happen.
I think there are four bus stops along that short piece of road each side. That is far too many and they are causing congestion. A shopping precinct like Boscombe would be nice, with traffic diverted around it. We are all being helped to live longer, so eventually there will be more of us with walking aids and mobility scooters. And more than likely more cars passing through.
